The Accounting Manager is responsible for day-to-day finance department operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to support business decision-making. This role includes supervising accounting staff, managing month-end close procedures, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include reviewing month-end procedures and adjusting entries, compiling financial reports, managing payroll and accounts receivable/payable, processing payments through NetSuite, calculating sales commissions, and ensuring sales tax compliance. The role also involves supervising and developing Staff and Senior Accountants and coordinating with internal stakeholders on financial matters.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP), experience with accounting software (NetSuite), strong analytical and financial reporting abilities, and leadership/team management experience. Attention to detail, regulatory compliance knowledge, and stakeholder communication skills are essential.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the US with no sponsorship available.

Job Description

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to support business decision-making.

The Accounting Manager will:

  • Review month-end procedures for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and record monthly adjusting entries
  • Compile financial reports and perform the initial financial analysis
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Review and record bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and proper coding in the accounting system
  • Review AR and AP aging on a weekly basis and follow up on outstanding items as needed
  • Review bills entered into NetSuite for proper supporting documentation and initiate payments
  • Manage company credit card issuance and limits, ensuring appropriate controls are in place
  • Manage basic banking functions, including checks, ACH, EFT, and other payment methods
  • Review invoices and payments received and then calculate the Commission for the Sales team on a monthly basis
  • Review and file Sales tax on a monthly basis. Assist with other regulatory compliance requirements as needed
  • Hire, supervise, train, and develop Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Review internal processes for documentation and improvement where necessary
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to advise on the financial impact of project implementations and engage with external entities on behalf of the company

The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and best practices for financial reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency in NetSuite required
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with G-Suite preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff, and leadership
