Job Description

Workday Technical Platform Lead We are seeking an experienced Workday Technical Platform Team Lead to guide a team of integration and security analysts through a period of meaningful platform transformation. As much as this is a technical leadership role, it is equally about change to standardize how we work, raising the maturity of our platform practices, and bringing teams and stakeholders along through continuous evolution. The right candidate stays ahead of Workday's rapidly evolving capabilities, translating new features and platform advances into strategic opportunities for the organization rather than simply keeping pace with change. Technical Modernization Projects and Process Improvements Champion platform modernization efforts including automation, orchestration, and AI integration, anchored in a structured change management approach that brings technical teams and business partners along through each phase of transformation. Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for Workday implementations, upgrades, and ongoing platform optimization, positioning the organization not just to keep pace with Workday enhancements, but to adopt them strategically and with minimal disruption to the business. Oversee complex Workday integrations with internal and third-party systems using tools such as Workday Studio, Orchestration, EIBs, Core Connectors, and APIs, ensuring integrations are designed for scalability and long-term maintainability. Establish and maintain engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes for Workday development, creating a foundation for consistency and speed and resilient troubleshooting that minimizes business disruption. Plan and execute Workday release management activities, including testing strategies and deployment coordination, balancing technical rigor with clear communication to stakeholders throughout each cycle. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user experience, and operational efficiency. Building a culture where incremental change is the norm, not the exception. Ensure compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and internal governance standards, embedding controls into delivery practices rather than treating them as an afterthought. Security and Data Designs and Controls Own data quality and integrity by ensuring system outputs and interfaces are monitored and security is administered appropriately, maintaining a standard that supports both operational reliability and audit readiness. Maintain comprehensive documentation for security configurations, policies, user acceptance testing, and audit processes, ensuring that institutional knowledge is captured and transferable. Lead pre- and post-system change reviews, evaluating and communicating business process design change impacts to relevant stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and adoption. Monitor and maintain scheduled processes and interface certification keys to ensure continuity and operational stability. Ensure appropriate SSO and MFA access checkpoints are in place across production and testing tenants, supporting both security posture and a seamless user experience. Manage the design, creation and ongoing administration of Workday user-based and role-based security, including security group configuration, role assignment and access management. Conducting periodic reviews in accordance with audit requirements, data privacy laws and organizational policies to uphold least privilege standards. Collaborate Effectively and Set Clear Goals and Expectations Build and mentor global, remote teams through continuous transformation. Fostering adaptability, change resilience, and a culture of continuous learning alongside evolving technology and AI-enabled ways of working. Establish governance frameworks, design standards, and KPIs to elevate platform maturity and delivery quality across the Workday ecosystem, creating the operational foundation for sustainable scale. Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to co-design adoption strategies and translate complex technical decisions into clear, accessible language, building the trust and shared understanding needed to ensure technology changes drive lasting behavioral and process change. Required Experience and Traits 8–10 years of experience in HCM systems, preferably Workday. 3+ years of people management experience, with a strong leadership presence and proven track record of building, leading, and inspiring global technical teams. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and stakeholders through technology-driven organizational change. Hands-on expertise in Workday Studio, Workday Extend/Orchestration, integration tools, and custom reporting capabilities. Technical expertise in data management and system-related security, with a forward-looking mentality to adopt emerging AI capabilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to deliver work that meets all minimum standards of quality, security, and operability. Preferred Experience and Traits Workday certifications in relevant functional areas (Integration and Security). Experience with change management methodologies or frameworks applied to technology transformation. Solid dedication to providing a high level of customer service. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively organize and communicate across levels. Root cause analysis and complex problem-solving skills. Highly collaborative and adaptable mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and changing priorities.
