2025 Recap

Careers in EdTech Published on December 31, 2025

As we wrap up 2025, we wanted to reflect on what this year has meant for the EdTech community. Like much of the broader technology landscape, EdTech continues to evolve rapidly. We’ve seen incredible innovation, but also significant disruption. Layoffs, hiring pauses, and shifting priorities have made the job search more challenging for many talented professionals. We shared some of that context earlier this year in our post on why EdTech layoffs are happening and what they mean for your career, and those realities remained present throughout 2025. Against that backdrop, our focus stayed simple and steady:

Help as many people as possible find meaningful EdTech work with organizations committed to improving the world. 💜

Using AI to Expand Access and Opportunity

One of the biggest evolutions in 2025 was how we thoughtfully integrated AI into the EdTechJobs ecosystem not to replace human judgment, but to remove friction, reduce barriers, and create more equitable access to career support.

Here are some of the ways we integrated AI in 2025 to help EdTech job seekers:

  • Fast Facts job summaries - AI-powered summaries on most job listings help candidates quickly understand responsibilities, required skills, qualifications, location, and compensation making it easier to decide where to invest their time.
  • Role discovery based on skills and motivations - Tools that help job seekers explore EdTech roles they may not have considered, based on what they’re good at and what energizes them.
  • Resume feedback for EdTech roles - AI-driven insights to strengthen resumes and align experience with what EdTech employers are actually seeking.
  • Personalized networking messages - Support crafting authentic outreach messages to connect with other EdTech professionals without sounding robotic or generic.
  • Refined resumes - Tools to adapt resumes and write compelling, personalized cover letters for specific EdTech job postings.
  • Tailored cover letters - Optimize and personalize cover letters for your EdTech job opportunities.
  • Interview preparation and mock interviews - Structured practice to help candidates feel more confident and prepared heading into interviews.
  • Strategic networking roadmaps - Guidance on how to build relationships and momentum over time, not just apply and hope.
  • Automated job status monitoring - AI was used to identify and automatically update more than 1,200 job listings that were became inactive, helping ensure job seekers spent their time on current, valid opportunities.

These tools are designed to meet people where they are whether they’re actively job searching, quietly exploring options, or rebuilding after a layoff.
