Role Snapshot

Summer school support staff position at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools assisting with classroom instruction and school operations during the summer 2026 program (June 8 - July 2). This role supports diverse grade levels (K-12) across multiple content areas including reading, math, civics, and ACT prep.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with school operations, transitions, and classroom instruction under the direction of summer school administration. Support teachers in classrooms with 20-25 students across various grade levels and subject areas.
Skills & Tools: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students and teaching teams. Ability to follow directions and adapt to classroom needs as outlined by summer school administration.
Qualifications: Must have current certificated fingerprints on file with Duval County; prior KIPP Jacksonville employment is not required. Candidates must be available for professional development on June 4-5, 2026, and work Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Compensation: $15/hr

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks support staff for our summer school classrooms for Summer 2026. Interested candidates donโ€™t have to be current KIPP Jacksonville employees to apply for this position, but they should already have certificated fingerprints on file with Duval County. 

Summer school support staff will assist with school operations, transitions and classroom instruction. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by the summer school admin team. 

Summer school will take place at our campus at 1440 McDuff Ave N. This is the only summer school site this year. 

OUR CURRENT MODEL

Summer school will run from June 8, 2026, through July 2, 2026. The program will take place Monday through Friday, with teacher hours from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

If selected for a summer school support staff position, the required professional development will be held on June 4th and June 5th. Class sizes are expected to range from 20โ€“25 students.

We will be offering summer school for the following grade levels and content areas:

  • K-12 ESE

  • 3rd Grade - reading and math

  • 4th - 7th Grade - math 

  • 8th Grade - math (including pre-algebra), civics, reading

  • High School - math (Algebra), reading, ACT prep

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Summer School support staff will be paid an hourly rate of $15/hour.
