Full-time, 10-month Elementary Speech & Language Pathologist position at KIPP Foundation in Philadelphia working with students to achieve academic and behavioral success through speech and language therapy and evaluation.
Job Description
Our Speech & Language Pathologist will work with students, teachers, and parents to help achieve the highest degree of academic and behavioral success for our students. Our Speech & Language Pathologist will conduct pull-out and push-in therapy sessions working with students 1:1, in small groups, and in inclusive classroom environments. They will also be responsible for the evaluations of children with receptive and expressive language deficits, articulation, phonological impairments, auditory processing and pragmatic language delays in addition to completing screenings for students. This is a full-time, 10-month position.
The role and skillset of a Speech & Language Pathologist includes, but is not limited to:
- Possess an extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm for speech and language development
- Exhibit positive rapport with students, parents and staff
- Create and teach engaging and differentiated lessons driven by students' IEP goals
- Conduct individual student evaluations and screenings
- Write evaluation reports, IEP goals, and IEP present levels of performance
- Attend scheduled IEP meetings
- Monitor student progress and use this information to inform instruction
- Share student progress and engage in problem solving with teachers through our intervention process
- Write progress reports every trimester
- Complete Access billing documentation on a monthly basis
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development
- Act as a role model for students
- Create and foster a positive, safe learning environment that incorporates the school's core values, high expectations and code of conduct
- Continually improve skills by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities

- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to integrate speech and language goals into regular classroom instruction and practice
