Support the SIS Undergraduate Advising Office by providing reception and administrative assistance to a team of six staff members. This Federal Work Study position helps students gain professional experience while contributing to the university community.

Key Responsibilities: Schedule and log student appointments, greet students and guests, and perform other administrative duties as assigned. Work shifts during the work week between 10am and 5pm.
Skills & Tools: Excellent organizational and customer service skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, ability to work effectively in team and multicultural environments, and ability to lift 25 pounds and move furniture.
Qualifications: Must be an enrolled American University undergraduate student with a Federal Work Study award and availability to work weekday shifts between 10am and 5pm. Preference given to students in the School of International Service with previous campus office experience.

Job Description: Summary: Incumbents support a team of six staff members by providing reception and administrative support for the SIS Undergraduate Advising Office. Duties will include but are not limited to scheduling appointments, logging student appointments, and greeting students and other guests. Shifts are scheduled during the work week between 10am and 5pm.

Essential Functions: Scheduling appointments. Logging student appointments. Greeting students and other guests. Other duties assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Part-time. 6 hours per week.

Salary Range: $18.40 - $18.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience: AU Undergraduate student with a Federal Work Study (FWS) award. Able to work during the week between the hours of 10am to 5pm. Excellent organizational skills Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work in multicultural environments. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Customer Service focus is essential. Comfortable moving event tables/chairs and able to lift 25 pounds.

Preferred Education and Experience: Previous experience working at AU campus office. All AU work-study students are eligible to apply for this position, with a preference for those students who are in SIS.
