The Research Security and Export Control Analyst ensures Old Dominion University's compliance with complex government regulations regarding research security, exports, and sanctions. Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of export control regulations and compliance frameworks; excellent organizational and documentation skills; ability to coordinate across departments and communicate complex regulatory requirements; attention to detail and project management capability.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, public policy, law, or compliance); relevant experience in research compliance, export control, or regulatory management preferred. Advanced degree or specialized certifications in export control may be advantageous.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $65K–$95K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

The Research Security and Export Control Analyst provides management, operational, and oversight for the Old Dominion University research security and export control compliance program. The person in this position will coordinate with the Assistant Vice President for Research Security and Export Control and team members to develop, test, maintain, and update policies and procedures for ensuring compliance, tracking, and monitoring of exports and sanctions under several extremely complex government regulations. Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing and coordinating research security, export, and sanctions compliance activities and scheduling, conducting, and documenting training and screening of faculty/staff/students and other personnel.
