Summary

The Executive Associate for Information Technology provides high-level administrative support to the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology & CIO at the University of Kansas, managing scheduling, calendar coordination, and serving as a liaison to senior campus leadership. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations and alignment across the IT department and broader university administration.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the Vice Chancellor & CIO's daily scheduling and calendar; provide administrative support to the CIO's direct reports; coordinate communications and meetings with other senior campus offices including the Chancellor, COO, Provost, and CFO offices; prioritize and manage requests on behalf of the executive IT team.
Skills & Tools: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities; high discretion and sound judgment in managing sensitive administrative matters; ability to prioritize competing requests; proficiency in calendar management and office coordination systems; collaborative approach to cross-campus liaison work.
Qualifications: Typically requires 3-5 years of executive or administrative support experience in a complex organizational environment; bachelor's degree preferred; familiarity with higher education or large institutional settings beneficial.

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $50,000 – $65,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Description

The Executive Associate for Information Technology plays a critical role in KU IT, managing the daily coordination for the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology & CIO and providing high-level administrative support to the executive team. This individual is responsible for overseeing the Vice Chancellor & CIO's scheduling and calendar management and assisting the CIO's direct reports with various support needs.

The Executive Associate collaborates closely with other campus offices, including the Chancellor's Office, Chief Operating Officer's Office, General Counsel, Provost's Office, Chief Financial Officer's Office, Office of Audit, Risk & Compliance, Deans, and KU affiliates, to ensure smooth operations and alignment across the university. Acting as a liaison, the Executive Associate represents the Vice Chancellor & CIO in communications with other senior leaders on campus.

This position requires strong problem-solving abilities, high discretion, and sound judgment in prioritizing and managing requests, scheduling, and communications on behalf of the Vice Chancellor & CIO and the executive team.
