Summary

The Candidate Experience Specialist ensures a seamless onboarding journey for new hires at First Student, guiding candidates through the complete hiring process from offer acceptance through training initiation. This remote role serves as the primary point of contact for new drivers, attendants, and location staff while coordinating with multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities: Guide candidates through onboarding including documentation and compliance, schedule and coordinate training sessions, maintain candidate records in Workday, and serve as the main point of contact providing timely support and communication. Monitor KPIs such as time-to-hire and training readiness while collaborating with Talent Acquisition, HR, Training, Safety, and Operations teams.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with Workday and Microsoft Office Suite, strong customer service and communication skills, and comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, high sense of urgency, and experience in metrics-driven environments are required.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 1+ years of experience in customer service, onboarding, recruiting, or HR is necessary.
Location: Remote with primary support for Yonkers and Mount Vernon, New York operations
Compensation: $30 – $36/hour

As the primary point of contact, the CX Specialist ensures a seamless and positive experience by coordinating training schedules, managing documentation, and overseeing compliance checks. This position is remote, but will primarily support our operations in Yonkers and Mount Vernon, NY.
