The Manager, Sales Development Representatives Role
The Manager of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) leads, coaches, and develops a team of SDRs responsible for prospecting, lead qualification, and outbound pipeline generation. This leader will ensure the team executes consistently against daily, weekly, and monthly activity targets, supports field sales growth, and provides exceptional first impressions to schools and districts.
The ideal candidate is both a player-coach and a process-driven leader who can develop talent, optimize sales processes, and collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and revenue operations to accelerate pipeline growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of SDRs to meet and exceed performance targets across activity, meetings booked, and pipeline generated.
- Implement and manage a structured activity model with weighted metrics that prioritize high-value outreach and consistent execution.
- Partner with field Educational Sales Consultants and Account Managers to align territory coverage, outreach strategies, and follow-up processes.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing on campaign execution, lead routing, and conversion reporting.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and ongoing training focused on skill development, product knowledge, and effective prospecting.
- Monitor pipeline creation metrics, analyze performance trends, and report weekly on team results and insights.
- Maintain a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration within the SDR team.
- Work with Revenue Operations to optimize CRM usage, lead management, and reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to the design of incentive programs, playbooks, and enablement materials that drive SDR success.
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor new SDRs as the team expands.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred (education, business, or related field). Equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in sales or business development, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Proven ability to manage and develop inside sales or SDR teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting strategy, lead qualification, and sales pipeline generation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret activity and conversion data to drive performance.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills with a passion for helping others grow.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM, as well as Microsoft Office and related sales tools.
- Highly organized, proactive, and skilled at balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution.
