Description
We are seeking a curious, organized, and collaborative Qualitative Researcher to join the Impact & Research team for a 3-month term. The Qualitative Researcher will support research initiatives aimed at generating deeper insights from employers and learners. This role will help Riipen better understand customer experiences, uncover needs and motivations, and inform strategic decision-making across programs and products.
As a Qualitative Researcher, you will design and implement qualitative data collection methods (e.g., focus groups, interviews, surveys), synthesize findings, and deliver actionable insights that influence stakeholder engagement, platform enhancements, and program development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute qualitative research activities, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and open-ended surveys with employers, learners, and other stakeholders
- Recruit, schedule, and facilitate research sessions, ensuring participants feel comfortable and engaged
- Develop research instruments, such as interview guides and discussion prompts
- Collect and organize qualitative data, transcribe sessions as needed, and maintain thorough documentation
- Analyze data to identify patterns, themes, and insights that address core research questions
- Write clear, engaging research reports and presentations that communicate insights to both internal teams and external partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Employer Success, Canadian Ecosystem, and Strategic Partnerships) to translate research insights into recommendations
- Uphold ethical research practices and protect participant confidentiality throughout the research process
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Master’s degree in education, behavioral economics, user experience psychology, human-centered design, social sciences, or related fields
- 2+ years of experience in research design and implementation
- Experience designing and conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus groups, open-ended surveys)
- Ability to analyze qualitative data and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Sensitivity to diverse perspectives and the ability to build rapport with a range of stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience with qualitative analysis tools (e.g., NVivo)
- Holds an active human subjects research certification (via CITI or TCPS)
