Where you fit in

The News Literacy Project advances the development and teaching of news literacy in K-12 education. We are at an exciting inflection point for our work, and we are making critical investments to rapidly scale our growth and impact. To that end, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Education Design who can manage and help grow our resource collection. This is a great opportunity for you to add your voice, talents and creativity to a team that builds world-class learning experiences, provides influential teacher training and helps shape the global field of news, media and information literacy. We’re looking for someone who can have an immediate and meaningful impact on our work.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Education Design.

About the position

As the Senior Manager of Education Design, you will serve as NLP's go-to expert on our resource library, guiding staff and contributors who develop or adapt resources. You will constantly evaluate NLP’s offerings to ensure relevance, engagement and innovation in order to fulfill educators’ needs and NLP’s strategic plan. You will help identify gaps and design additional resources using educator feedback. You will also coordinate cross-team efforts related to resources, such as marketing campaigns and technology initiatives.

Specifically, in this job, you will:

  • Maintain a multiyear resource development roadmap, informed by educator feedback, that feeds into team and organizational planning. This includes monitoring resource inventories, identifying outdated materials and updating resources as necessary.
  • Drive project management and resource development efforts, coordinating across teams to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Lead the development of a significant portion of new resources, including lessons, instructional videos, online interactives, quizzes, infographics and more.
  • Collaborate with NLP educator support staff to ensure new resource development priorities are aligned with teacher feedback and NLP’s strategic needs.
  • Align resources to educational standards.

This full-time position is virtual. Highly qualified candidates who live in, and are authorized to work in, the United States are encouraged to apply. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and professional reference check, conducted in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Experience producing high-quality written work on tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Experience and comfort with working in a virtual work environment (in terms of both technology tools and personal skills).
  • Flexibility to shift projects when priorities change.
