Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $130,000 - $180,000.
What You’ll Do
As Director, Learning and Assessment Design, you will be at the forefront of shaping Edmentum’s strategic vision for learning and assessment across our entire portfolio. You’ll drive innovation by integrating research, evidence, and policy into every aspect of our products and programs—ensuring that Edmentum not only meets but sets the standard for effective teaching, learning, and assessment. You’ll leverage your expertise to broaden access and drive outcomes for diverse learners, positioning Edmentum as a thought leader in literacy, mathematics, virtual instruction, intervention and acceleration models, career learning, and advancements in assessment design and systems. Through convening expert advisory panels, building strategic partnerships, and championing a robust thought leadership agenda, you’ll amplify Edmentum’s impact both internally and externally. Your leadership will empower senior staff, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure our work is recognized as best-in-class across the education sector.
In this role, you will:
- Set and execute the strategic vision for learning and assessment design across Edmentum’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with research, evidence, and policy and portfolio strategy and development activities.
- Develop and document evidence-based theories of action for products and programs, and ensure these frameworks are integrated into product development and implementation activities to broaden access and drive measurable outcomes for diverse learners.
- Champion Edmentum’s reputation as a forward-looking authority through expert convenings, partnerships, and external publications.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships in literacy, mathematics, virtual instruction, intervention/acceleration, career learning, and assessment design.
- Lead and mentor senior staff, fostering leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Align learning and assessment initiatives with executive leadership priorities.
- Represent Edmentum externally through thought leadership, publishing, and speaking engagements.
Who You Are
- You are deeply knowledgeable in learning science, instructional design, assessment theory, and accessibility standards.
- You bring deep expertise in at least one domain such as literacy, mathematics, virtual instruction, intervention models, career learning, or assessment systems – with demonstrated experience leading and inspiring teams that collectively span all these areas.
- You hold advanced credentials in education, instructional design, or assessment (Master’s required; PhD strongly preferred).
- You have a proven track record of 10+ years designing research-based learning and assessment experiences that drive impact.
- You lead with vision, bringing 5+ years of experience guiding geographically distributed senior teams and mentoring future leaders.
- You understand K–12 education and digital learning environments at an expert level, with insight into assessment systems.
- You are recognized as a thought leader, with contributions through publishing, speaking, and industry engagement.
- You excel at strategic leadership, aligning functional strategies to enterprise goals and delivering initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
- You influence without authority, driving organizational change through collaboration and exceptional communication.
- You champion inclusivity, embedding bias-free design practices that serve diverse learners and educators.
- You thrive in dynamic environments, embracing evolving responsibilities to meet business needs.
