Role Snapshot
Senior Director of Development at City Year leads fundraising strategy and revenue generation efforts to support the organization's mission of educational equity and youth development. This role is responsible for building and managing a high-performing development team while cultivating major donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee all fundraising activities including individual giving, corporate partnerships, and grant management while developing strategic plans to increase organizational revenue. Lead, mentor, and manage the development team to achieve fundraising goals and implement donor engagement initiatives.
Skills & Tools: Strategic fundraising expertise, strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent relationship-building and communication skills, and proficiency in donor databases and development operations. Experience with nonprofit financial planning and P&L management required.
Qualifications: Minimum 7-10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with progressive leadership roles, preferably with experience in education or youth-serving organizations. Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field preferred.
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $90Kโ$100K/yr
