Role Snapshot
The Exploratorium seeks an On-Call Research and Evaluation Assistant to support visitor learning and exhibit evaluation through interviews, data collection, and improvement suggestions at their San Francisco museum location.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct open-ended and semi-structured interviews with visitors, record audio and video using multiple camera systems, input visitor data into spreadsheets, code/score data using established schemes, and suggest improvements to evaluation instruments and methods.
Skills & Tools: Excellent communication and listening skills, attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, ability to set up and troubleshoot audio/video equipment, and familiarity with iPads and Qualtrics preferred.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; interest in and/or experience with evaluation or learning research preferred, with ability to work flexible hours ranging from no work to half-time (20 hours) weekly.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $27–$29/hr
