Role Snapshot
The Visitor Engagement Facilitator enhances the museum experience by engaging visitors and facilitating educational programs both on-site and off-site. This multi-department role serves as the first point of contact for all visitors and is a significant contributor to creating exceptional museum experiences.
Key Responsibilities: Initiate visitor engagement across all points of the visitor journey, facilitate educational experiences through exhibit explorations and scientific demonstrations, handle ticketing and retail services, and assist guests with special needs. Staff maintain museum appearance, report dysfunctional exhibits, answer visitor inquiries, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure safe and functional museum operations.
Skills & Tools: Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, ability to manage large groups, and proficiency in math and English. Preferred skills include bilingual abilities and experience in visitor services or informal education.
Qualifications: Experience in visitor services or informal education preferred. Commitment to diversity and inclusion and proficiency in math and English are important qualifications.
Location: San Francisco, California
Compensation: $25–$27/hr
