The Elevator Pitch
Are you passionate about building front-end experiences that make a real difference? Evolv’s Engineering team is looking for a talented Front End Developer to help shape next-generation security products. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to elevate the user experience across multiple software products—ensuring reliability, performance, and innovation at every step.
What are the performance outcomes over the first 12 months you will work toward completing?
In the first 30 days, you will:
- Develop a solid understanding of our software architecture, system constraints, and product requirements.
- Build credibility with the engineering team by contributing high-quality code for feature enhancements / bug fixes.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Actively participate in design and code reviews.
- Implement features designed by the team lead, following Evolv’s coding standards and technical guidelines.
By the end of year one, you will:
- Partner with the product team to gather and iterate on requirements, present software designs for team feedback, and ship polished code to customers.
- Provide meaningful input into long-term architectural decisions and product roadmap planning.
- Help foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and psychological safety.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing?
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Collaborate with the development team to explore user interface ideas and define application flows.
- Review application requirements, identify user interactions, and build highly responsive UI components using React.js workflows.
- Develop and implement front-end architecture that supports scalable UI concepts.
- Ensure UI components and the overall application are robust, well-tested, and easy to maintain.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and communicate technical issues affecting customers’ experience on our platform, then implement targeted frontend fixes.
- Monitor and continuously optimize front-end performance.
- Document application changes and keep technical documentation current.
What We’re Looking For:
You bring at least 2 years of React front-end development experience with a proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end (minimum one major project or release, start to finish). You’ve built progressive UI applications that perform well under load. Methodical, detail-oriented, and well-organized, you’re results-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills—and you’re always eager to learn new technologies to improve front-end and engineering processes.
Required skills:
- 2+ years of experience with React.js and its ecosystem
- 2+ years of experience with TypeScript; JavaScript knowledge is a plus
- 2+ years of experience with HTML and CSS
- Strong understanding of JSON data structures and experience integrating APIs
- Experience with UX design is a strong plus

Where is the role located?
This role is based at our headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts. As a member of the Engineering team, we expect you to work from the office most days—with flexibility to work remotely occasionally for one-off needs.
Compensation
The base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000- $185,000. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and equity, in alignment with applicable state laws. Our compensation ranges are determined based on factors such as role, level, location, market benchmarks, and internal equity. The posted range represents the good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role across U.S. locations. Actual compensation within the range will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and geographic location.
