Job Description
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. Personal trainers are responsible for building clientele, conducting fitness assessments, offering free sessions for 1st time clients, and for designing safe and effective workout plans. Basic Responsibilities: Enforce SRWC policies and procedures. Design safe and effective training programs for clients with varying levels of fitness. Coordinate with SRWC senior staff. Essential Duties: A. Enforce all SRWC policies and procedures. Know, understand, and enforce all SRWC policies and procedures. Keep all client information strictly confidential. Contact an SRWC staff member if you are uncomfortable enforcing a specific policy. Ensure that clients have paid for services at the Member Services Desk after the free assessment and before the first session. Use Fusion Software at the Member Services Desk to accurately record and maintain training records for each client. B. Design safe and effective training programs for clients with varying levels of fitness. Improve the overall health and wellness of clients with smart and efficient training programs. Communicate with clients via email and phone to schedule free assessments, sessions, and any other necessary meetings. Ability to design individual and group training programs to meet the specific needs of clients. Provide a customer friendly experience. C. Coordinate with SRWC senior staff. Adherence to expectations concerning working relations, job reliability, safety, training, and supervision. Report any equipment that is in need of repair. Report accidents, injuries, or problems that arise during training sessions. Assist in any other duties as specified by the Director of Facility Operations. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. Professional Development Requirement: A. Skills Maintain Personal Training and First Aid/CPR and AED certifications. Qualifications: A. Professional Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Nutrition, or related field Require a Personal Training certification *Prefer NASM certification Require a current First Aid/CPR and AED certification through the American Red Cross Physical Demands Position requires mobility and the ability to lift heavy weights. Attention to detail concerning both visual and audible cues. Additional Info This position does not have scheduled hours. Trainers are paid different rates depending on whether each session is free to the client or purchased by the client.
