Join Oxford University Press as an Acquisitions Editor for Public Health to develop their scholarly and professional publishing list by acquiring 20-25 titles yearly while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. This role is pivotal in advancing OUP's mission and enhancing scholarly impact in public health and related disciplines.
Key Responsibilities: Acquire approximately 20-25 public health titles annually, collaborate with internal and external partners including authors, agents, and editorial boards, and negotiate contracts while analyzing market data. Manage the commissioning process, build budgets, manage P&L statements, and engage with sales and marketing teams to enhance OUP's Public Health program.
Skills & Tools: Strong communication and collaborative skills with entrepreneurial mindset for individual book commissioning and list development. Experience in contract negotiation, financial management, sales data analysis, and knowledge of public health and related disciplines such as sociology, philosophy, political science, psychology, and social work.
Qualifications: Proven track record in academic, professional, or trade publishing acquisitions or equivalent experience in research and communications professions. Knowledge of or interest in public health discipline and related fields with demonstrated experience managing commissioning processes and delivering high-quality manuscripts.
