Key Responsibilities: Plans, directs, and executes complex legal activities including interpreting laws and regulations governing OCLC's operations. Prepares and negotiates agreements, contracts, and third-party arrangements while managing legal projects in a timely manner consistent with the highest quality standards.
Skills & Tools: Strong expertise in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance (antitrust, personnel, environmental), and legal analysis. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills with ability to work across internal departments and external stakeholders.
Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar license required, with substantial experience in corporate law, contracts, and regulatory matters. Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Location: Hybrid - Dublin
Compensation: $180K–$260K/yr (estimated)

The job details are as follows: The Senior Attorney knows and applies well the fundamental concepts, policies and procedures of the legal profession and the legal department. Performs legal assignments that are varied, difficult and important in character, including assuming primary responsibility for assigned areas. Collaborates with others within and outside of OCLC on a wide range of subjects. Handles all legal projects in a timely, management responsive manner, consistent with the highest level of legal quality. Responsibilities: Plans, participates in, directs and executes assigned legal activities, including activities of a complex nature. Interprets laws and regulations governing the affairs of OCLC including regulations issued in the antitrust, personnel, environmental and other regulated areas. Prepares and negotiates agreements, contracts and other third-party arrangements which create rights and/or duties of OCLC, including purchasing and licensing agreements, real estate matters, and other matters. Reviews, comments and makes recommendations to the Vice President, General Counsel concerning company policies which have legal implications. Participates in meetings of management committees for the purposes of staying informed, giving advice and making recommendations regarding the legal aspects of operating and policy matters being considered for decision. Participates with outside counsel where necessary as assigned and maintains proper liaison with and supervision of outside counsel. Participates in obtaining intellectual property protection for patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights of the company and works to ensure protection of those rights. Participates in and provides guidance of litigation involving OCLC and its affiliates. Provides legal counsel in connection with claims and controversies. Requirements: J.D. or L.L.B. degree Not less than five years of professional experience in public or private legal practice Member of the Ohio Bar Desired but not Required: Additional professional experience is desirable Superior analytical, drafting and research skills Ability to manage heavy workload and to work a minimum 45 hour week Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
