Role Snapshot
As a Seasonal Maintenance Mechanic on the 2nd shift, you will keep Lakeshore Learning Materials' Garland distribution center and material-handling equipment running safely and reliably, enabling the facility to support classrooms nationwide.
Key Responsibilities: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, and sensors; troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on material-handling components; maintain racking, shelving, dock levelers, and overhead doors; monitor forklift battery charging; and complete routine facility maintenance while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting, knowledge of conveyor and material-handling equipment operation, ability to follow established maintenance procedures, and strong commitment to safety and loss-prevention practices.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience with preventive maintenance, material-handling equipment, or similar mechanical repair roles is beneficial but may not be required for seasonal positions.

As a Seasonal Maintenance Mechanic, you'll keep our facility and material-handling equipment running safely and reliably, working alongside a hands-on team. A day on the job looks like this:
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, sensors, and related material-handling equipment following established procedures and plans
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues on material-handling components, including photo eyes, relays, solenoids, and motor starters
- Maintain and repair racking, shelving, dock levelers, and overhead doors to keep operations moving safely
- Complete routine facility maintenance tasks and support janitorial needs as they arise
- Monitor forklift battery water levels and ensure timely, correct charging
- Follow all safety and loss-prevention policies and procedures, contributing to a safe work environment for the whole team
