The Mobile Learning, Community, and Career Readiness Specialist is responsible for improving academic and student experiences in the online environment through blended opportunities. The Specialist will support families in their region by helping onboard new families, coordinate and facilitate regional school events, create and promote outreach through social media, and support work based learning experiences. This role will also provide community resources and connections for families throughout their assigned regions. Start Date: School year 26/27 In addition, this position plays a key role in supporting the school’s Career Readiness initiatives, including support for the Mobile Learning and Career Lab and post secondary career pathway opportunities for students. The position requires approximately 50% to 60% travel and the ability to travel extensively throughout the state of Michigan to support students, families, community partnerships, career connected learning opportunities, and regional events. Arrange and coordinate student face to face events within designated geographic area of the state to include: Monthly F2F meet and greets Other F2F meetings as the geographical area deems needed based on interest and needs inventories Student engagement in community service learning and work-based learning projects Facilitate social media, marketing, and communication for student events Create, distribute, and review surveys for families to determine type of events they support; gather feedback after events to determine effectiveness Work with leadership to create and plan appropriate events for students Coordinate with Career Tech team to connect with students doing work-based learning and/or practicum work Communicate with students, schools, and businesses to ensure Career Prep student satisfaction and meaningful experiences for placements Work with Family Engagement Coordinator to coordinate events Work with leadership to communicate information pertaining to community events Work with leadership team to create and communicate socialization opportunities for parents during state testing May work with leadership to help develop hybrid learning opportunities Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Required Qualifications: MI Teaching Certificate Preferred Bachelor’s degree AND Two (2) years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, and/or facilitating community involvement OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor’s degree preferred in education, communications, counseling, community development, workforce development, or related field Experience working with students, families, schools, or community organizations Strong communication and relationship building skills Ability to organize events, outreach opportunities, and community partnerships Experience with social media communication and promotion Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation Ability and willingness to travel 50% to 60% across the state of Michigan Comfortable presenting to students, families, business partners, and community organizations Strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to support diverse student populations and family needs Student centered mindset Strong interpersonal and networking skills Self motivated and flexible Positive and professional communication Comfortable with statewide travel and public facing engagement Passion for career connected learning and community engagement Ability to represent the school professionally in community settings OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with online learning environment; Strong organizations and time management skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visit, etc.); Web proficiency; Ability to travel 50% of the time; Ability to clear required background check. Must reside in Michigan Desired Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, and/or facilitating community involvement Strong community relationships Event Coordination experience Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred Experience in virtual education, career readiness, CTE, or work based learning Experience coordinating community events or student engagement initiatives Knowledge of postsecondary pathways including college, skilled trades, certifications, apprenticeships, and workforce opportunities Experience developing partnerships with local businesses, colleges, or community organizations Familiarity with career exploration platforms, student support systems, or outreach programs Experience supporting student recruitment, retention, or onboarding initiatives Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.
