The STEM Academy Program Manager serves as the primary liaison between Old Dominion University and Booker T. Washington Elementary School's lab school, coordinating implementation of the STEM Academy's mission while supporting educational innovation and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Lead outreach and sustainability efforts, engage with community and institutional partners, coordinate implementation of lab school priorities, and support the STEM Academy's mission and vision under the Executive Director's supervision.
Skills & Tools: Strong program coordination and project management abilities, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, community partnership development expertise, and capacity to work collaboratively across academic and K-12 educational environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred), typically 2-3 years of experience in program management, educational coordination, or community engagement roles; knowledge of STEM education and lab school operations is advantageous.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $55K–$75K/yr (estimated)
Job Description
The chief objective of the Program Manager for the STEM Academy at Booker T. Washington Elementary School is to serve as the ODU liaison on site at the lab school and coordinate and support the implementation of the STEM Academy’s mission and vision, under the supervision of the Executive Director for the Center for Educational Innovation and Opportunity. The Program Manager will lead outreach and sustainability efforts, engage with community and other partners, and ensure the effective implementation of lab school priorities.
