Summary

The Meetings and Learning Events Intern will support the organization and logistics for the DREAM 2026 Annual Conference while gaining hands-on experience in conference management.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with online registration, manage event logistics including travel accommodations and guest room lists, coordinate shipments of event materials, process payments and invoices, and support the events team with administrative tasks and onsite coordination.
Skills & Tools: Administrative experience, event coordination and management skills, collaboration abilities, and an equity mindset; strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications: Preferred candidates should have some administrative experience and a keen interest in event coordination and management, along with a learning orientation and commitment to equity principles.
Location: Hybrid in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; occasional travel to conferences including Portland, Oregon
Compensation: $18.00 – $23.00/hour

Job Overview:

The Meetings and Learning Events Intern will assist with the coordination of event preparation and logistics for the DREAM 2026 Annual Conference, scheduled for March 2-4 in Portland, Oregon, and be responsible for the following:

  • Assist with online registration process and generate reports, create comp codes, issue refunds via the system; assist registrants with processing their registrations and any issues.
  • Attend to the ATD Events inbox. 
  • Work with the events team to keep web pages accurate and up-to-date. 
  • Assist with managing guest room lists and arranging travel accommodations for staff, coaches, and other special guests. 
  • Organize check payments and processing, request invoices, and handle pro-forma registration requests.
  • Organize and assemble meeting/event materials. 
  • Coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments of meeting/event materials and maintaining inventory. 
  • Assist with cross-checking of specs, rooming lists, and other documents as needed. 
  • Help manage (onsite) staff schedule. 
  • Travel to DREAM may be required. 
  • Assist with other duties as assigned. 

*Administrative experience and a desire to work in conference management is preferred. 

Internship Duration: Approximately 10-20 hours per week, through March 2026.
