Role Snapshot
Join Reading Partners as a Development Director for the Eastern Regions to build donor relationships and drive fundraising strategies that help eliminate the literacy crisis in underserved schools. You'll serve as a strategic leader and resource mobilizer, creatively developing and implementing ambitious fundraising plans while supporting the organization's mission to empower communities through volunteer-based tutoring.
Key Responsibilities: Create and implement regional fundraising strategies, manage a portfolio of foundation, corporate, and individual donor relationships, and drive revenue generation to meet annual fundraising goals. Lead cultivation and stewardship of high-level external relationships, support board management in partnership with Executive Directors, and mobilize local support for the Mid-Atlantic and South Carolina regions.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in fundraising strategy, donor relations, relationship development, community engagement, and strategic planning with strong communication abilities. Proficiency with Salesforce or similar database management systems and demonstrated ability to lead teams and serve as a trusted strategic advisor.
Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in development roles with proven fundraising success and strong relationship-building capabilities. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar databases is preferred.
Location: Oakland, California
Compensation: $110K–$123K/yr
