DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

THE ROLE

Civitas Learning is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the evolution of our market-leading Student Impact Platform. This leader will be responsible for defining the product vision and strategy, guiding the team in execution, and ultimately delivering solutions that help our partner institutions improve a range of outcomes (e.g., persistence, career readiness, and others), raise graduation rates, and close equity gaps.

A significant component of this role will be to champion the next generation of the platform by thoughtfully integrating powerful and practical AI capabilities. You will lead the charge in making our industry-best analytics more accessible and actionable through AI, ensuring we continue to provide the most effective platform for improving student success in the market. You will build, mentor, and lead a product team dedicated to this mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and articulate a clear, compelling product vision for the unified Student Impact Platform, aligning the product roadmap with the company's strategic goals of helping institutions improve ROI and student outcomes.
  • AI Integration Leadership: Champion the integration of AI capabilities into the platform. Ensure our AI strategy is executed as a practical, "human-in-the-loop" solution that augments our users’ efficacy, builds user trust, and makes our analytics more actionable.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, manage, and mentor a product team. Foster a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and deep customer empathy.
  • Roadmap & Execution: Oversee the product roadmap from conception through launch. Work with your team to translate the vision into detailed requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful, timely delivery of new capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key partner to leaders in Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and others to ensure the product strategy is aligned across the business and successfully brought to market.
  • Market & Customer Intelligence: Become an expert on the higher education market, the competitive landscape, and the evolving needs of institutional leaders, from Provosts to VPs of Student Affairs. Use these insights to inform the product direction.
  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED (QUALIFICATIONS)8+ years of experience in software product management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing a team.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and launching data-intensive or AI-powered products.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, engaged product teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to articulate a product vision to technical teams, senior leadership, and external customers.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Experience in the EdTech sector or with SaaS products built for the higher education market.
  • Direct product leadership experience with student success platforms, advising tools, or enrollment management technology.
  • A strong understanding of the systems and data used by higher education institutions (e.g., SIS, LMS, CRM).
  • Direct experience with generative AI product development and integration.
  • Experience working directly with and presenting to institutional leaders, such as Provosts, Deans, and VPs.
