Senior PHP Engineer at Hack The Box will develop and enhance the HTB Business platform, a global cybersecurity upskilling solution, by building new features and maintaining robust backend systems. This role is critical to serving a diverse customer base and supporting the world's largest hacker community.

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop new features using Laravel PHP Framework, create and maintain RESTful APIs, generate clean and scalable code, perform code reviews, and collaborate with frontend developers and product teams. Maintain platform stability by addressing issues and defects while staying current with emerging technologies.
Skills & Tools: Advanced proficiency in PHP, Laravel framework, object-oriented programming (OOP), relational databases (SQL), Docker, and RESTful API design; strong understanding of SOLID principles, software design patterns, HTTP protocols, and unit testing frameworks like PHPUnit. Problem-solving aptitude, self-motivation, teamwork capability, and cybersecurity-mindedness are essential.
Qualifications: Proven professional experience with Laravel or other MVC frameworks (Symfony, Springboot), deep knowledge of relational databases, and demonstrated expertise in creating RESTful APIs and unit testing. Experience with software design decisions and technical documentation is required.

✨The core mission of the Senior PHP engineer:

Work on one of our HTB platforms, HTB Business, responsible for upskilling organizations across the globe. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the enhancement of the platform and the development of new features.

We are open to candidates with diverse back end programming backgrounds, as long as you have experience in an MVC framework, passion and aspiration to work with PHP programming language and the Laravel Framework.

🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

As a Back end developer you will work closely with developers, QA and Product Managers to create an amazing experience for HTB customers. You will be an integral part of HTB development team aspiring to build the world's largest hacker community. This engineering team is the biggest one , aligning with the expansive mindset of our HTB Business platform and serving a diverse set of customers globally.

  • Develop new features and tools using the Laravel PHP Framework
  • Generate clean, safe, reusable and scalable PHP code
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs

  • Proven professional experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, Springboot or other frameworks following the MVC architecture is a strong plus
  • Experience with applications providing a RESTful API
  • Deep understanding of HTTP
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as PHPUnit
  • Good understanding of SOLID principles and software design patterns
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Being cyber security-minded is a strong plus
