Description
The Director of Solution Design is an operational leader and subject matter expert responsible for executing the Solution Design strategy for our West Coast partners. This role is the functional owner of designing and developing scopes of work for BetterLesson’s high-priority and/or high-complexity state, district, and school partners.
The Director of Solution Design provides instructional expertise and consultative coaching to multiple cross-functional teams, supporting managing and retaining a portfolio of partners. This role partners with internal and external partners, reconciling multiple viewpoints to architect solutions that achieve partner visions, promote student-centered teaching and learning, and help teachers and leaders sustain practice shifts to support all students.
Here are some things you can expect to accomplish in this role:
- Design comprehensive and impactful Scopes of Work (SOW) for new and returning partners that support leaders and educators in engaging with BetterLesson learning experiences, driving impact and sustained change in teaching and learning.
- Drive partner engagement by utilizing instructional expertise and coaching skills to build and sustain positive, goal-oriented relationships with BL customers that provide value.
- Partner with the Sales and Customer Experience teams to manage a partner portfolio, evaluate the impact of the designed SOW, and strategize partner upsells and renewals.
- Serve as subject matter expert and advisor in high-priority, high-complexity discovery and solution-designing conversations with Sales Associates and Account Executives by identifying partners’ needs and intended outcomes to inform the development of scopes of work aligned to BetterLesson outcomes.
- Utilize data and educational research to drive internal and external conversations about current and potential products and services, including supporting internal R&D around new offerings.
- Build Solution Profiles to highlight partnerships and Scopes of Work that deliver impact, can help generate new business opportunities, and become starting points for future case and impact studies.
About You:
- Master's degree in Education, Curriculum, Learning Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Six or more years of experience in K - 12 classroom teaching or coaching roles.
- Two or more years of experience coaching and supporting K - 12 school or district leaders.
- Two or more years of experience designing and facilitating professional learning experiences for K - 12 educators.
- Two or more years of experience designing professional development solutions for partner client organizations.
- Two or more years of experience identifying instructional needs and building consensus with multiple partners on a solution package that is impactful and aligned with the partner’s goals.
- Able and available to travel to meet with partners and facilitate pre-sale events.
- Must be able to work Pacific Time business hours.
