Position Summary
The Pricing Specialist is responsible for working with complex data sets to help Bluum determine and set competitive prices to gain market share and achieve revenue goals while maintaining a keen attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong analytics to consider data from multiple sources and support complex pricing models that reflect margins for promotional and seasonal pricing based on competitor and market. You will work collaboratively with the pricing manager to support strategies and enhance process and procedures related to pricing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a platform that allows the collection and analysis of a wide range of pricing and sales data
- Work with the pricing manager to implement the best pricing schemes given our products and various possible channels, maximizing margins and product turnover
- Work with pricing manager to identify and adjust key pricing positions as the markets evolve
- Follow a methodology and infrastructure for collecting market information from other businesses units so everyone has an accurate and comprehensive view of current market pricing
- Work with pricing manager, reporting and other department to maintain and adjust our market view so we’re always competitively priced and able to take advantage of market dips using our buying power and ability to forecast
- Use your market pricing knowledge to support the ITAD department when making large proposals for takeout to ensure both fair values for the customer and reasonable returns for us
- Assist other departments answering large RFQs that have an IT pricing component by providing expertise and costing data
- Follow developed methodology for pricing large lots of mixed equipment that do not have individual line pricing, balancing future returns with inventory capacity and logistic throughput
- Perform in depth data analysis and financial modelling scenarios for pricing profitability initiatives, driving the company’s long-term growth profitability strategy
- Complete analysis and make recommendations to optimize retail pricing and promotions, improve financial results, processes and business improvements
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze and monitor market conditions, competitor price positioning and promotional trends
- Support the development of metrics, data and reporting for pricing, markdowns and promotions to measure impacts and performance
- Provides analysis and insight to merchants on markdown effectiveness
- Run price optimization scenarios and make recommendations to business partners to maximize sales and profitability
- Support in the necessary market research to build the intelligence needed to recommend regional maintenance pricing, captive and non-captive item pricing and make recommendations to Management
- Provide pricing support and recommendations to all areas, brand new equipment, wholesale, RMA, warranty, and retail
- Other duties as assigned

Education & Skill Requirements
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a business-related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience with significant exposure to pricing
- Experience within a technology field & working with pricing, is a strong asset
- In depth knowledge of Excel is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is an asset
- A creative problem solver with the ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to organize and present large amounts of pricing data to the rest of the management team and allow all sales and buying groups to make intelligent decisions
- Ability to manage and coordinate administrative and analytical staff
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex pricing decisions as well as subsequent tracking to analyze decisions and learn lessons for future opportunities
- Fluency in pricing research methodologies
