Role Snapshot

Director of Graphic Design for Men's Basketball at UNC responsible for creating dynamic social media, web, and facility graphics that align with Athletic Department branding. This role strategically supports recruiting efforts and fan/donor engagement through compelling visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities: Design and produce social media graphics, web content, video, animations, and digital projects for the men's basketball program. Collaborate with recruiting and creative services leadership to develop content calendars, coordinate photo shoots, and distribute materials across multiple platforms.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in graphic design software, social media content creation, video production, and animation. Strong communication and project coordination abilities with experience working cross-functionally across marketing, communications, and creative teams.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field with 3-5 years of professional design experience, preferably in sports marketing or athletic department environments.
Compensation: $65K–$95K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

Create social media, web, facility and other graphics for Carolina Men's Basketball that are dynamic and consistent with the Athletic Department's Branding Guidelines. Work with the Director of Men's Basketball Recruiting to determine graphics and social media needs for the program and assist with related photo shoots. Coordinate with the Director of Men's Basketball Recruiting and the Director of Creative Services to develop and plan content calendars. Communicate effectively and consistently with the Director on all graphic design-related activities. Responsible for the creation and distribution of video, graphics, animations and other digital projects within the football program. The purpose of this content is to inform, engage and excite prospective student-athletes and assist Carolina's Athletic Department in their efforts to recruit fans and donors while strategically telling great stories. This position will interface with various internal and external constituencies including, but not limited to, Athletic Communications, Marketing and Promotions, Go Heels Productions and The Rams Club.
