The Financial Reporting & Modeling Manager is responsible for providing key analytical, modeling and strategic support to the VP of FP&A, ensuring adherence to GAAP principles in financial models.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the company’s 3-5 year strategic model (Long Term Plan) including compliance with GAAP principles and internal management EBITDA views
- Prepare detailed variance analysis to Budget and Forecasts of GAAP & EBITDA Financial results including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flow
- Ensure M&A is integrated into the long term plan
- Collaborate with the planning team to ensure alignment with the short-term plan
- Collaborate with Analytics team to ensure model assumptions are refreshed and validated
- Collaborate with Strategic team to ensure model reflects HC and business needs
- Prepare GAAP & EBITDA financials for the Budget and Forecasts
- Support Sales and Marketing sectors in budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Validate and Ensure accuracy of GAAP & EBITDA level financial reports in the planning system
- Provide back-up support to the VP of FP&A
- Ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned
- Assist with executive presentations, including the preparation of the board materials
- Provide integral support for the annual planning process, financial projections, and sales and revenue forecasting (including cash flows and balance sheet preparation and analysis)
- Create, manage and monitor Key Performance Indicators and SaaS metrics, including churn and cohort analyses, and articulate findings to senior management
- Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior management with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the organization’s businesses
- Perform deep-dive reviews of General & Administrative expenses to identify risks and opportunities
- Review and/or create Capital Expenditures (CapEx) proposals, evaluate Return on Investment (ROI), and make recommendations regarding the commitment of capital
- Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- A minimum of 3 yrs in similar role as a Senior Financial Analyst or similar
- Experience with planning tools (such as Adaptive)
- Experience in SaaS company preferred
- MBA/Masters degree preferred
- CPA/CFA or candidate preferred
- Good attention to detail and organization skills, detail oriented with the ability to identify anomalies in data
- Practical knowledge of GAAP and finance concepts, including deeper understanding of balance sheet and cash flow movements
- Proficiency with Excel (including modeling and Pivots), PowerPoint and ThinkCell
- Previous work with budgeting and reporting tool preferred (Adaptive, Hyperion)
- Experience in SaaS industry a plus
- Extensive experience joining and manipulating different sets of data to perform analysis and validate and summarize data accurately
- Ability to structure and develop complex financial analyses
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Able to work with all levels of the organization
