The temporary Accountant position is responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Accountant will perform daily accounting tasks, assist with month-end closing activities and financial audits, own the 1099 process, and perform other activities and special projects as assigned.
This is an hourly, full-time, temporary position that is expected to last through August 2025 and reports directly to the Sr. Accounting Manager at SEMI Milpitas office.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the accounts payable and employee expense reports reimbursement (from vendor set up/maintenance, coding, reviewing supporting/receipts, managing the approval and payment process)
- Responsible for the accounts receivable (including invoicing, payment applications, credit card processing, receipts reconciliations, follow up on over dues and customers inquires)
- Prepare sales tax and VAT filings
- Maintain 1099 vendors and take ownership of the annual 1099 process
- Assist in month end closing including reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank accounts, credit cards, accruals, other journals as needed
- Assist with biweekly payroll processing
- Assist with annual financial statement audit
- Respond to financial inquiries from departments
- Assist with administrative tasks such as document signing, notarization, apostle, and other projects/duties as assigned
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
- Invoices, payments, and expense reports are entered into the system timely and accurately.
- Successful processing of the annual 1099 requirements.
- A valued team player in completing month-end closing and annual financial audits.

KNOWLEDGE AND/OR PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in relevant accounting and/or financial systems with emphasis on accounts payable and account receivable.
- NetSuite experience is a plus
