Part-time position for a Language Touchstone Grader to evaluate student work in Spanish and French, providing constructive feedback while adhering to efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities: Evaluate student submissions, complete grading rubrics, provide feedback, check for plagiarism, and participate in calibration efforts to ensure grading consistency.

Skills: Proficiency in Spanish and French, strong time management, confidentiality maintenance, communication skills, and computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; prior teaching experience is a plus.

Location: Remote position based in the United States of America, with regular attendance required.

Compensation: $19 - $29 / Hourly

Graders evaluate submitted student work for content, competency and adherence to the instructions and rubric. Graders are held to efficiency and quality goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accurately read and measure student performance in Spanish and French based against a grading rubric.
• Collaboratively work with the Lead for the course(s) to provide the student with constructive, supportive and concise feedback.
• Complete grading rubrics and leave detailed feedback and comments for the learner.
• Check student submissions for plagiarism and for grammar.
• Provide in-context feedback and scoring using the Sophia-provided rubric.
• Participate in calibration efforts to ensure consistency of quality for our learners.

• Subject matter competency in Spanish and French.
• Prioritization and time management skills.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Work Experience:

• Current or prior HS or Post-secondary teaching experience in the subject matter.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
