Compensation: $80000 - $90000 / Annually
The Human Resources Manager – Safety and Benefit Programs is a key member of the HR team responsible for creating and managing enterprise-wide safety programs and processes, managing and administering employee benefit programs, and ensuring reporting requirements are met.
The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that are not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.
- Build trusted and effective relationships to advance an organizational culture that lives the values, including promoting a positive safety culture within the organization.
- Manage enterprise-wide safety programs including collaborating with other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of the business, assessing workplace safety conditions, developing and implementing programs and processes to include a comprehensive safety manual, creating training roadmap, ensuring accident investigations take place to prevent reoccurrence, and ensuring reporting requirements are met.
- Manage enterprise-wide workers compensation programs
- Manage and administer employee health and welfare benefit programs including communicating benefits information to employees, managing enrollment processes, and ensuring reporting requirements are met.
- Actively participate in creating and implementing a comprehensive onboarding program that welcomes new team members to the organization and equips them for success.
- Manage employee data and record changes including benefit information, wage or position changes, new hire and separations ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
- Participate in planning and implementing employee engagement programs, surveys, and events.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, with emphasis on creating and maximizing HR processes.
Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or other related field or the equivalent amount of training and hands on experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a relevant HR role that includes emphasis on safety programs and benefits administration for a multi-state organization with 300+ employees
- Demonstrated understanding of OSHA, workers compensation, and health and welfare policies and reporting requirements
- Experience using HRIS systems, preferably ADP
- High degree of integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to create business process documents and present ideas or train others in clear and collaborative ways
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with analyzing safety and other HR data
- Ability to travel to multiple Trafera facilities throughout the St. Paul metro area routinely, and locations in LA, NC, OK, WV as necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
