Job Description
The Student Success Coordinator (SSC) ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all student academic records, scheduling systems, and graduation eligibility. This role owns the student information system, transcript accuracy, and master scheduling processes, ensuring every student is correctly scheduled and on a verified path to graduation. In addition, the SSC will work closely with KIPP Forward and high school leadership to ensure all students are on track for graduation and prepared to successfully transition to a postsecondary pathway (college, career, or workforce). This role supports academic advising, supports postsecondary readiness systems, and recommends Tier 2/3 social-emotional supports.

Owns all decisions related to student records, transcripts, and credit calculations
Final authority on graduation eligibility and transcript accuracy
Determines technical requirements for student course placement and credits
Owns student-facing academic and postsecondary planning decisions
Determines interventions for students who are off-track academically or postsecondary
Recommends (but does not finalize) course pathways and schedule needs
Inputs: What will I be doing in my day-to-day work?
Manage and maintain all student records in PowerSchool with 100% accuracy
Conduct regular audits of credits, GPA, and transcript accuracy
Monitor student progress toward graduation requirements and flag discrepancies
Generate report cards, transcripts, and progress reports
Process student enrollment, withdrawals, and records requests
Lead transcript audits in collaboration with school leadership
Ensure compliance with FERPA and all student records regulations
Coordinate with leadership team on reporting and data accuracy
Develop and monitor individualized student academic and postsecondary plans
Analyze student data (grades, credits, attendance) to identify off-track students
Support postsecondary readiness programming (college applications, FAFSA, career exposure)
Co-facilitate workshops for students and families on college, career, and financial aid
Outcomes: What will I be evaluated on?
100% accurate student records, transcripts, GPA, and credit reporting
100% of students have schedules aligned to graduation requirements by Day 1
โฅ95% of students on track for graduation (in partnership with Registrar)
100% of students have a documented postsecondary plan
Zero compliance or audit findings related to student records
Accurate and timely reporting of student progress toward graduation
Seamless execution of scheduling cycles and reporting timelines
Clear identification of students at risk of delayed graduation (early warning system)
What skills should I already bring, i.e., what should I already have a track record around?
Strong expertise in student information systems (PowerSchool or similar)
Deep understanding of graduation requirements, transcripts, and credit systems
Knowledge of FERPA and student records compliance
Strong knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and career pathways
Ability to analyze student data and translate into action plans
Skilled in counseling, relationship-building, and culturally responsive practices
Strong facilitation and communication skills with students and families
Ability to design systems and programming, not just provide 1:1 support
High level of organization and case management
Ability to manage large datasets and reporting cycles
High attention to detail and accuracy
