Position: Platform Product Manager
As Platform Product Manager, you will be pivotal in driving the core product strategy and execution for Lumion’s SaaS platform, specifically designed for the edtech sector with integrated payment solutions. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, compliance, sales, and marketing to deliver compliant, and revenue-generating features that empower educational institutions and their users.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Product Management
- Product Discovery & Strategy: Conduct customer research within the edtech space, analyze market trends (including payments and educational technology), and build data-driven product roadmaps that advance business goals for our SaaS platform.
- Product Execution & UX Design: Own end-to-end delivery of platform features: translate insights into clear requirements, wireframes, and user stories, collaborate closely with engineering, and launch high-impact features that enhance our edtech and payment capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across the company to develop GTM plans and adoption strategies. Effectively enable sales, marketing, and support teams for successful feature launches.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with critical third-party vendors (e.g., payment processors, API providers, infrastructure services) to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and value for Lumion's platform.
- API & Integration Management: Define and manage the APIs and integration points of our platform, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of both internal teams and necessary third-party services.
- Platform Health & Optimization: Continuously monitor platform performance, user engagement, and key metrics related to our edtech and payment functionalities, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a significant focus on SaaS platform strategy and API products. Experience in edtech or payments/fintech is highly desirable.
- Strong track record of successfully launching and scaling SaaS platform features that demonstrably drive user adoption, engagement, or commercial value.
- Deep proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker) to measure platform performance, user behavior, and inform product decisions.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platform dynamics, API strategy, and integration best practices, particularly within an edtech or payments context.
- Working knowledge of fintech compliance (especially related to payments processing) and best practices for secure and scalable SaaS platforms.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and key external vendors.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Experience
- Background in payments, lending, or other fintech products serving educational institutions.
- Prior work in a high‑growth startup environment, juggling multiple priorities under tight timelines.
- Experience building marketplaces, network effects, or platform business models.
