Collaborate with UX, engineering, compliance, and GTM teams to translate business needs into product requirements while ensuring compliance with PCI DSS, NACHA, and regional regulations.
Skills & Tools: Strong product management expertise with experience in payments, fintech, or financial services; demonstrated ability to conduct customer discovery and competitive analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, and understanding of payment systems, compliance requirements, and international financial regulations.
Qualifications: At least two years of relevant experience in payments, fintech, or financial services with readiness to step into product ownership. Educational background in business, finance, or related field preferred, with support available from senior product leaders as you grow into a global product owner role.

The Business Suite Team is responsible for all Veracross financial solutions, including tuition billing, student payments, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other school finance workflows. The team is composed of fintech, accounting, and payments experts who work to simplify and optimize business office operations for independent schools globally. Payments sits at the heart of this portfolio — connecting families, schools, and financial institutions across the US, UK, ANZ, and beyond.

Job Description:

As the Payments Product Manager, you will own the strategy and execution for Veracross’s global payments capabilities. Based in the United States, you will lead payments product decisions across all regions we serve — including the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand — partnering with processors, banking partners, and internal teams to deliver fast, secure, and compliant payment experiences for schools and the families they serve.

This is an product management role designed for someone with at least two years of relevant experience in payments, fintech, or financial services who is ready to step into product ownership. You will be supported by senior product leaders and a cross-functional team as you grow into a global product owner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the strategy, planning, and execution of the Veracross global payments roadmap across the US, UK, ANZ, and other markets
  • Conduct market research, customer discovery, and competitive analysis to inform payments product decisions
  • Partner with payment processors, gateways, and banking partners to evaluate capabilities, negotiate features, and manage day-to-day relationships
  • Collaborate with UX, engineering, compliance, and GTM teams to deliver intuitive, secure, and scalable payment experiences for schools and families
  • Translate business and customer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Help ensure compliance with PCI DSS, NACHA, card network rules, and regional payment regulations (e.g., PSD2/Strong Customer Authentication in the UK/EU, ATO/AusPayNet standards in Australia)
  • Analyze payment performance data — authorization rates, decline reasons, settlement timing, chargebacks, and fees — to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support GTM, customer success, and support teams with training, documentation, and enablement on payments features
  • Track KPIs, report on product performance, and adapt the roadmap based on measurable impact
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or a closely related domain (e.g., associate product manager, payments operations, payments analyst, product analyst, or implementation specialist working with payments or treasury products)
  • Working knowledge of how online payments work end-to-end — including card processing, ACH/bank transfers, gateways, processors, and settlement
  • Familiarity with payments compliance and risk concepts such as PCI, fraud prevention, and chargebacks
  • Strong analytical mindset, comfortable working with data to inform product decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones and regions
  • Curious, organized, and self-directed — eager to grow into a full product management role with global scope
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience as an Associate Product Manager or Product Analyst on a payments or fintech product
  • Exposure to international/cross-border payments, multi-currency processing, or FX
  • Experience with payment platforms such as Stripe, Adyen, Worldpay, Payroc or similar
  • Familiarity with regional payment methods (e.g., BECS/Direct Debit in Australia, BACS/Faster Payments in the UK, ACH in the US)
  • Experience working in or with K–12 schools, higher education, or family-facing billing platforms
  • Exposure to machine learning and/or automation

Salary at Veracross is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. The compensation range for this position is $115k to $130k (annualized USD) in addition to potential bonus.
