Summary

Remote school social worker position with Parallel supporting students in Michigan K-12 schools. Deliver direct and indirect social work services while collaborating with clinical teams to provide comprehensive mental health support and psycho-educational evaluations.

Key Responsibilities: Provide direct and indirect social work services to students, develop IEPs with social work-specific goals, conduct mental health assessments, and facilitate parental support. Train staff on behavioral interventions, assist with behavior management, and contribute to comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations.
Skills & Tools: Licensed clinical social worker with expertise in MTSS frameworks, counseling, and psychological evaluations. Proficiency with telehealth platforms, strong communication skills for diverse populations, and knowledge of cultural and societal factors affecting student behavior.
Qualifications: Active LCSW license and valid Michigan K-12 school social work certificate or license required. Minimum 1 year of full-time on-site school social work experience (excluding internships) with remote social work experience preferred.
Location: Remote from Michigan, United States
Compensation: Estimated: $48,000 – $65,000/year based on LCSW role in Michigan, remote school social work, and contract position with Parallel (typically lower than traditional FTE positions)

Urgent need for licensed Social Workers to support our school partnerships in Michigan!

Parallel is looking for remote school Social Workers to join our team of expert clinicians. Help students thrive by providing direct and indirect social work services and collaborating with mental health colleagues to conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations.


What You’ll Do

  • Deliver direct and indirect social work services to children.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to create tailored treatment or IEPs with social work-specific goals.
  • Provide insights to staff on cultural, familial, and societal factors affecting student behavior.
  • Develop positive behavioral intervention strategies and conduct mental health assessments.
  • Facilitate parental support and help with school adjustment.
  • Train staff, assist with behavior management, and provide direct support as needed.

What You’ll Need 

  • Be a licensed clinical Social Worker (active LCSW) 
  • A valid state license or certificate to work in a K12 school (varies by state)
  • Minimum 1 year of full-time on-site school social work (excluding internships)
  • Remote social work experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in the National SSW Practice Model domains
  • Expertise in MTSS frameworks, counseling, and evaluations
  • Strong communication skills for diverse student populations
  • Tech-savvy and experience with conducting tele-health services on virtual meeting platforms
  • A private workspace with a reliable computer, webcam, and secure internet connection
  • Availability during traditional school hours (8:00am-3:00pm) and days (Monday-Friday); minimum availability of 15 hours per week is ideal 
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus!
