Role Snapshot

The Learning Experience Multimedia Contractor creates compelling multimedia resources including videos, animations, and interactive content to enhance K-12 STEM educational experiences. This role involves collaborating with instructional designers and subject matter experts on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and produce multimedia content such as videos, animations, simulations, and graphics for K-12 STEM curriculum using industry-standard software. Collaborate with instructional designers to translate curriculum objectives into engaging, accessible multimedia experiences that meet educational standards.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Animate) and multimedia authoring tools with expertise in vector illustration and animation. Strong understanding of instructional design principles, accessibility standards, and universal design practices for K-12 education.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, or related field with proven experience in multimedia development, preferably in K-12 or STEM educational contexts. Demonstrated portfolio of multimedia projects showcasing creativity and alignment with educational objectives and accessibility guidelines.

Job Description

The Learning Experience Multimedia Contractor collaborates with the SmartLab team to create compelling multimedia resources that enhance learning experiences for students and educators. This role involves working on a contract basis to develop various multimedia elements, including videos, animations, and interactive content that align with our educational programs and curriculum goals.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and Produce Multimedia Content: Create videos, animations, interactive simulations, and graphic designs that support K-12 STEM curriculum.
  • Collaboration: Work with instructional designers and subject matter experts to understand curriculum objectives and translate them into engaging multimedia experiences.
  • Utilize Industry-Standard Software: Use tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to create high-quality multimedia content that adheres to educational standards and accessibility guidelines.

Education and Experience Needed

  • Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.ย 
  • Proven experience in multimedia development, preferably in an educational context, with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous work.ย 
  • Expertise in software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant multimedia production tools.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and pedagogy related to K-12 education.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in multimedia production.

Professional Competencies

  • Experience in multimedia development, preferably in K-12 education or STEM education.
  • Experience working with accessibility guidelines and universal design to meet the needs of all users.
  • Proficiency in multimedia authoring software such as Adobe Creative Suite, including skills in vector illustration and animation using Adobe Animate.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of multimedia projects showcasing creativity, innovation, and alignment with educational objectives and accessibility guidelines.

This a 1099 Contractor position with a pay rate of $30/hour for an estimated 20-30 hours per week.
