Job Description
The Learning Experience Multimedia Contractor collaborates with the SmartLab team to create compelling multimedia resources that enhance learning experiences for students and educators. This role involves working on a contract basis to develop various multimedia elements, including videos, animations, and interactive content that align with our educational programs and curriculum goals.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and Produce Multimedia Content: Create videos, animations, interactive simulations, and graphic designs that support K-12 STEM curriculum.
- Collaboration: Work with instructional designers and subject matter experts to understand curriculum objectives and translate them into engaging multimedia experiences.
- Utilize Industry-Standard Software: Use tools such as Adobe Creative Suite to create high-quality multimedia content that adheres to educational standards and accessibility guidelines.
Education and Experience Needed
- Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in multimedia development, preferably in an educational context, with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous work.
- Expertise in software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant multimedia production tools.
- Understanding of instructional design principles and pedagogy related to K-12 education.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in multimedia production.
Professional Competencies
- Experience in multimedia development, preferably in K-12 education or STEM education.
- Experience working with accessibility guidelines and universal design to meet the needs of all users.
- Proficiency in multimedia authoring software such as Adobe Creative Suite, including skills in vector illustration and animation using Adobe Animate.
- Demonstrated portfolio of multimedia projects showcasing creativity, innovation, and alignment with educational objectives and accessibility guidelines.
This a 1099 Contractor position with a pay rate of $30/hour for an estimated 20-30 hours per week.
