Job Description
IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a part-time Standards Aligner to join our content development team. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning IXL science content to state educational standards, international curriculum documents, and sections of widely-adopted textbooks. These alignments will be used by teachers across the nation and around the world to design their lessons and track their students’ progress. #LI-REMOTE
This is a 1099 consulting role that is remote for 6 months with possible extension.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Accurately interpret state educational standards and curriculum documents
- Identify the IXL skills that best help students meet the goals of each standard or textbook section
- Format alignments as Google spreadsheets
- Assist in researching state and international education standards
- Collaborate with curriculum designers to determine the best possible alignments
- Incorporate and apply feedback to complete revisions as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in science (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) or a closely-related field
- 1+ years of experience aligning content to state standards
- Strong knowledge of K-12 educational terminology and science content
- Teaching experience in K-5 science
- Knowledge of additional subject areas is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets or Excel
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently and meet due dates
- Clear and consistent communication skills
