Summary

Join IXL Learning as a Standards Aligner to map science educational content to state standards, international curricula, and textbooks used by millions of educators globally. Your work will directly support teachers in lesson planning and student progress tracking.

Key Responsibilities: Interpret state educational standards and curriculum documents, identify relevant IXL skills for each standard, format alignments as Google spreadsheets, research education standards, and collaborate with curriculum designers on alignment decisions.
Skills & Tools: Strong knowledge of K-12 science education terminology and content, proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel, excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities, independent work capability, and clear communication skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in science (biology, chemistry, physics, or related field) with 1+ years of curriculum alignment experience and K-5 science teaching experience preferred.
Location: Remote, United States (6-month initial term with possible extension)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $50,000 โ€“ $70,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a part-time Standards Aligner to join our content development team. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning IXL science content to state educational standards, international curriculum documents, and sections of widely-adopted textbooks. These alignments will be used by teachers across the nation and around the world to design their lessons and track their studentsโ€™ progress. #LI-REMOTE

This is a 1099 consulting role that is remote for 6 months with possible extension.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Accurately interpret state educational standards and curriculum documents
  • Identify the IXL skills that best help students meet the goals of each standard or textbook section
  • Format alignments as Google spreadsheets
  • Assist in researching state and international education standards
  • Collaborate with curriculum designers to determine the best possible alignments
  • Incorporate and apply feedback to complete revisions as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in science (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) or a closely-related field
  • 1+ years of experience aligning content to state standards
  • Strong knowledge of K-12 educational terminology and science content
  • Teaching experience in K-5 science
  • Knowledge of additional subject areas is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Google Sheets or Excel
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work independently and meet due dates
  • Clear and consistent communication skills
