Summary

Learning and Development Specialist responsible for creating impactful training programs across multiple formats that align with organizational goals at Sonepar. This role supports employee development and skill advancement through engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging training programs in classroom, virtual, and e-learning formats; create instructional materials and job aids aligned with business needs. Manage the Emerging Professional Program, recommend learning strategies to address skill gaps, and measure training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and LMS platforms (Articulate, Captivate). Strong ability to develop engaging content across multiple delivery methods and measure training impact.
Qualifications: Minimum 3+ years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development with strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies. Valid driver's license required with some travel involved.
Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000/year

About the position

Responsible for creating engaging, effective learning experiences that support organizational goals. Design and develop instructional materials for various delivery methods, including e-learning, virtual classrooms, and instructor-led training, using proven adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs (classroom, virtual, and e-learning) aligned with business needs.
  • Create instructional materials, job aids, and learning resources using adult learning principles.
  • Manage local Sonepar Emerging Professional Program associates throughout their program.
  • Recommend learning strategies to address skill gaps and support career development.
  • Measure training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Some travel required.
