Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage multiple engineering teams while driving development of scalable systems and processes; mentor and inspire team members to grow professionally. Participate in architecture and product discussions with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, designers, and AI researchers.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in Golang, Python, Node.js, and JS/TypeScript; strong agile management, customer-centric product development, and team mentoring abilities. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to balance priorities, provide objective feedback, and thrive in fast-paced environments with a growth mindset.
Qualifications: 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading multiple teams of 3-5 engineers in hands-on technical management roles. Proven track record of shipping quality products on time with adaptability, resilience, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Location: In-Person - San Francisco or New York
Compensation: $220,000 – $250,000/year

About the role: As a Senior Engineering Manager at Kiddom, you’ll report to the VP of Engineering while leading multiple teams of talented engineers. This role combines technical leadership with strategic impact, allowing you to shape Kiddom’s systems and processes to scale our business. You’ll work with modern technologies, including Python, Golang, Node.js, JS/Typescript, Kubernetes, and AWS, while solving challenging technical problems that directly impact educators, administrators, and students. You will have the ability to motivate and inspire change across the entire engineering organization as we adapt to new technologies and AI capabilities that make us and our users more efficient. This role can be based in NYC or San Francisco and requires 2-3 days in office. What You'll Do...:

  • 10+ years of software engineering work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in people management
  • Experience with modern fullstack languages and frameworks
  • Proven experience hiring and building teams

  • Salary range is dependent on geography, past experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
