Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, information technology, or related field with 3-5 years of experience in clinical systems training or healthcare IT support; demonstrated knowledge of Epic systems and clinical workflows preferred; experience with training program development and adult education principles.

Details: General Notes The Lead Clinical Applications Trainer supports enterprise-wide clinical application training initiatives with a primary focus on Epic and related clinical technologies. This position partners closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to support onboarding, optimization, workflow adoption, and ongoing education efforts across Dell Medical School and affiliated clinical operations. Purpose The Lead Clinical Applications Trainer delivers comprehensive training programs for clinical and non-clinical end users across supported clinical applications, with a primary emphasis on Epic and electronic health record systems. This role develops and facilitates training, supports workflow optimization, and serves as a key resource for end-user education, onboarding, and system adoption initiatives. Responsibilities Develops and Maintains Training Programs Design education programs tailored to clinical and non-clinical audiences Create training materials including manuals, e-learning modules, job aids, and quick reference guides Align training content with clinical workflows and application functionality Update training materials based on system changes, enhancements, and user feedback Ensure training supports organizational standardization and optimization goals Delivers Training and Onboarding Facilitate classroom, virtual, and in-practice training sessions Provide onboarding training for new hires across departments and roles Deliver individual and group training upon request and during onboarding of new clinics or departments Deliver training related to software updates and new application functionality Provide elbow-to-elbow support for physicians, clinical staff, and operational users Assigns Applications and Supports User Proficiency Determine appropriate application assignments based on role and workflow requirements Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of supported applications Guide users through role-specific workflows and procedures Monitor user progress, adoption, and proficiency Manage training requests, access issues, and user support questions Coordinates Training Logistics Schedule training sessions and manage training environments Coordinate logistics for training and educational events across multiple locations Track attendance, completion records, and participation metrics Ensure availability of equipment, technology, and educational resources Maintain training records and support administrative functions Analyzes Training and Workflow Effectiveness Review organizational activities and performance data to support planning and process improvement Assess curriculum effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement Provide feedback to leadership and stakeholders regarding training environments and educational needs Develop understanding of organizational policies, workflows, and ambulatory operations Align training programs with application functionality and clinical workflows Consults and Collaborates with Stakeholders (10%) Collaborate with Clinical Applications & Informatics teams, project managers, department leaders, and super users Ensure training content is standardized and aligned with organizational initiatives Support optimization of clinical workflows through on-site review and operational support Assist providers and staff in improving workflow efficiency and user adoption Support organizational goals through targeted training and workflow enhancement initiatives Marginal or Periodic Functions Participate in go-live support and floor training activities during implementations Assist with testing and rollout of new application features and enhancements Support training activities for external partners and vendors Contribute to change management and Supports organizational performance goals through education and workflow optimization Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Education, Nursing, or a related field Five years of experience in clinical training, informatics, healthcare IT, or a related healthcare technology environment Knowledge of data structures and information system applications within multi-specialty clinic operations, ambulatory surgery centers, research, and higher education environments Experience supporting Epic or comparable enterprise electronic health record platforms Experience delivering training to clinical and non-clinical audiences Experience developing curriculum, educational materials, and training programs Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills Ability to analyze workflows and align training content with operational needs Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Instructional Design, Nursing, or a related field Three years of experience in clinical application training, Epic training, or EHR implementation activities Experience supporting large-scale healthcare technology implementations Experience with workflow optimization and clinical operations improvement initiatives Experience supporting provider onboarding and organizational change management efforts Experience delivering classroom, virtual, and at-the-elbow training in healthcare environments Licenses/Registrations/Certifications Required Epic Certification Preferred Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) Project Management Professional (PMP) Instructional Design Certification Adult Learning Certification Salary Range $94,000+ depending on qualifications Working Conditions Standard office equipment Repetitive use of a keyboard and computer May provide support in classroom, clinical, ambulatory, and virtual environments May participate in go-live support, floor support, and training activities across multiple locations May be exposed to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications, and disoriented or combative patients Occasional travel between clinical locations may be required Required Materials Resume/CV 3 work references with their contact information
