The Graphic Design Technician assists in creating visual concepts and branding materials to support UK Athletics' visual identity across athletic facilities and NCAA/SEC events. This role transforms new and renovated facilities with cohesive branding signage while maintaining existing graphics.
Key Responsibilities: Design and produce graphics including wall wraps, banners, directional signs, decals, and 3D elements; manage printing, installation, and removal of signage; maintain vinyl and substrate inventory; collaborate with coaches, marketing, and administration teams on project execution.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in graphic design software and production techniques (vinyl cutting, heat press, engraving); strong organizational and project management skills; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within timelines and budgets; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; experience in graphic design, sign production, or related visual design field preferred. Knowledge of design software, printing processes, and facility signage installation is beneficial.

Job Description
The Graphic Designer will assist in creating visual concepts to support UK Athletics branding and visual identity by designing and producing graphics for the athletic facilities, seasonal events as well as NCAA and SEC events. The Graphic Designer will contribute to all aspects from idea conception and collaboration, design and layout, printing/engraving/fabrication, removal of outdated graphics, wall preparation and installation. This individual will work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and with coaches/staff, administration, marketing, communications, and ticketing to create and implement branding signage. Graphics include wall wraps, banners, directional and advertisement signs, 3-dimensional graphics (logos, lettering, and graphic panels), decals, magnets, engravables, painting and lettering of game balls/stools and game day and practice heat press. This position will work under the direction of the Senior Graphics Designer to transform a new or renovated facility and brand it with UK Athletics' identity to visually impact the student athlete or recruit. This also included athletic facilities located off campus. This individual will also maintain and update existing graphics as well as work with any outside vendor if needed. This individual will be responsible for managing sign substrate and vinyl inventory, responsible for the successful transportation and installation of a variety of signage types, required to review and ensure that all signage meets the required specifications for each project, prepare each sign for mounting, and manage the placement and installation of each sign as required. This individual will have excellent organizational skills, be able to manage multiple projects, be detailed oriented, work within a timeline and budget yet have the flexibility to handle occasional special or urgent requests as assigned by the Senior Graphic Designer.
