Skills & Tools: Excellent instructional writing and communication skills; strong knowledge of curriculum development lifecycles and learning theories (ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, UDL); proficiency with LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom) and digital authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate); ability to design inclusive, engaging content; independent work ethic with strong attention to detail and collaborative remote team skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or related field; minimum 2 years of experience in curriculum development or instructional design, preferably in online/remote settings. Experience developing eLearning modules and working across multiple educational formats (K-12, higher ed, corporate training) is desirable.

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $45,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Summary
- The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Freelance Curriculum Developer to join our remote education team. In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance educational content across various disciplines, tailoring learning materials for diverse audiences including K-12 students, higher education, and adult learners. The ideal candidate is passionate about online education, deeply familiar with modern instructional design principles, and capable of creating dynamic, engaging, and standards-aligned curricula.
- Design and develop engaging lesson plans, modules, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with specified learning objectives and outcomes.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and digital media specialists to ensure high-quality content delivery.
- Research curriculum standards and incorporate best practices in pedagogy and digital education.
- Customize curriculum for different formats such as eLearning, blended learning, or live virtual classes.
- Use learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools to structure and deliver content.
- Revise and update existing curricula to reflect new trends, technologies, or standards.
- Conduct peer reviews and respond to feedback to continuously improve instructional materials.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
- Excellent written communication and instructional writing skills.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development life cycles and learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, Blooms Taxonomy, UDL).
- Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or Google Classroom.
- Proficiency in using digital content creation tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
- Ability to design inclusive, engaging, and learner-centered content.
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in curriculum development or instructional design, preferably in an online or remote setting.
- Experience developing content for online courses or eLearning modules is highly desirable.
- Experience working with a variety of educational formats (K-12, higher ed, corporate training, etc.) is a plus.
