Your Role
As the Early Learning Specialist, you will:
- Partner with Center Directors to coach and mentor teaching staff, ensuring quality implementation of inclusive practices through tools like CLASS™, the Teacher Success Rubric, TPOT/TIPITOS, and ERS.
- Support staff in delivering differentiated instruction and managing challenging behaviors to meet the needs of children with disabilities and special needs.
- Facilitate professional learning communities to strengthen curriculum planning and use of assessment data.
- Ensure timely identification, referral, and transition services for children with disabilities, working in collaboration with LEA and Part C agencies.
- Track and analyze child outcomes and program quality data to inform continuous improvement and program development.
- Assist in designing and delivering professional development for education staff, including onboarding, coaching, and ongoing training.
- Provide coverage for Center Directors as needed and contribute to cross-team initiatives that strengthen overall program impact.
- Participate in leadership activities, demonstrating a solutions-focused, collaborative approach to achieving outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field with 6+ ECE courses); Master’s preferred. Special Education certification required. Bilingual education a plus.
- Experience: Teaching, supervising, and coaching in early childhood settings, with a strong background in supporting children with disabilities. Head Start experience preferred.
- Skills: Effective written and verbal communication; strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to work independently while building collaborative relationships.
- Professional Knowledge: Familiarity and reliability with CLASS™ and ECERS-R preferred; willingness to obtain reliability within first year.
- Mindset: Passion for inclusion, equity, and advancing positive child and family outcomes.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel occasionally out of state.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and technology tools.
- Ability to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds, up to 20 times per day if needed.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain).
- Successful completion of physical exam, background check, and fingerprinting.
