IT Technician at Walbridge providing hands-on technical support for Windows-based systems across multiple job sites in Ohio. This role supports smooth operation of IT infrastructure and user productivity at construction project locations.

Key Responsibilities: Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for Windows 11 systems, deploy and configure hardware/software, perform onboarding and workstation setup for new hires, and support network connectivity. Additional responsibilities include user training, IT recommendations for operational efficiency, and assistance with new technology adoption across multiple job sites.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, ticketing systems, and hardware technical specifications. Strong multi-tasking ability, user support experience, willingness to learn new technologies, and ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical training/professional experience, and 3+ years of commercial IT support technician experience in Windows environments via telephone and remote support. Valid driver's license required, ability to travel out of state with short notice, and willingness to complete 2-3 week training in Detroit, Michigan.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $32K–$48K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT Technician to join the Walbridge team. You will provide hands-on technical support at the job site, ensuring smooth operation of Windows-based systems and hardware. This is a great opportunity for an IT professional who is passionate about technology and customer support to learn and grow.

Location

You will work from the project location in Millersport, Ohio. In addition to your primary responsibilities there, you'll also be supporting 3 other job site locations across Ohio.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities:

  • Windows 11 Support - Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for Windows 11 systems, including troubleshooting OS issues, performance optimization, and user assistance.
  • Hardware & Software Deployment - Stage, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. Install, update, and support standard business applications in accordance with IT policies.
  • Onboarding & Workstation Setup - Prepare and provision user workstations for new hires, including account setup, system configuration, and ensuring readiness on day one.
  • New Technology Support & Adoption - Support the implementation and adoption of new technologies, including evaluating emerging tools, assisting with pilot deployments, and helping users transition to new systems and solutions.
  • Network Support - Assist with basic network setup and troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, VPN access, and wired/wireless network configurations.
  • IT Recommendations & Asset Planning - Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services to improve operational efficiency, performance, and security.
  • User Training & Support - Deliver end-user training and guidance on technology tools, systems, and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce support incidents.
