Summary

The Director of Benefits at Strategic Education will oversee the design, implementation, and administration of comprehensive benefits programs while ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing employee wellbeing. This leadership role requires managing a team and serving as a strategic benefits expert across the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Lead benefits function including program design, annual renewals, open enrollment planning, and communication; analyze benefit options and predict costs to support decision-making; manage third-party provider relationships and ensure regulatory compliance with IRS, ERISA, DOL, and state requirements.
Skills & Tools: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, project management and analytical abilities, expertise in plan administration and regulatory compliance, and excellent written and oral communication. Demonstrated strength in process orientation, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications: 8+ years of diverse benefits experience with 5+ years in a leadership role; Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, with MBA preferred. Certifications such as PHR/SHRM-CP are advantageous.
Location: Hybrid in Herndon, Virginia, United States of America; occasional travel may be required.
Compensation: $130,300 โ€“ $195,500/year
