Enrollment
Student Onboarding and Visa Operations are two critical functions within the broader Enrollment Department. The enrollment department supports Verto’s mission by providing a world-class experience to students and families from their first interactions with Verto through arriving on-site. The enrollment team assists students and their families through making the life-changing decision to join Verto, and then supports them throughout the pre-departure period, preparing them for a successful Verto experience The Director, Student Onboarding and Visa Operations will be responsible for the student journey from deposit through on-site arrival.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities:
- Owns the strategic direction of the onboarding and visa operations teams, setting departmental priorities that optimize operational efficiency, enhance student experience, and advance company goals. This includes setting departmental policy, owning the departmental budget, and representing the functions in company planning.
- Drives the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes and procedures, collaborating across departments and with external partners to scale services and reduce logistical friction for students throughout their onboarding and visa experience.
- Drives the strategy for fully preparing students and families to arrive on site, including but not limited to, the gathering of travel, health, passport, accommodation and academic information, as well as reinforcing the education students and parents need to feel confident. Drives the strategy around moving students through the student visa process as seamlessly as possible.
- Develops and implements scalable solutions, centering people, technology and operational considerations, that will set onboarding and visa operations up for success for many cycles to come.
- Builds and leads the onboarding and visa operations teams, including developing, mentoring and managing staff. Supports and manages creative staffing structures to balance complex workloads across peak and non-peak times of the year.
- Manages multiple people managers, coaching them to develop high-achieving, highly motivated teams.
- Develops and drives toward achievement of annual and quarterly OKRs.
- Identifies trends, risks, and opportunities impacting student onboarding and visa operations. Forms insights from data, and develops strategy based on insights. Aligns team around executing strategy, driving initiatives to completion.
- Serves as the senior cross-functional partner to Admissions, Marketing, SFS, Academics and others, aligning team processes with company strategy. Presents updates, wins, challenges and blockers to executive leadership in Business Reviews and other forums as needed.
- Owns accountability for the accuracy and integrity of all student account data. Utilizes data to assist in forecasting and capacity and housing planning.
🧠 What We’re Looking For
Must-have:
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work remote, this is a remote position.
- Able to travel at least 1-2 weeks per year.
- Must be based in the US, and work on a time zone 1 hour +/- those in the continental US. (Example: GMT -8 through GMT -3).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in leading customer service or student facing teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking with strong analytics skills, a commitment to operational excellence, and a student-first mindset.
- Experience mentoring teams, implementing process improvements, and managing complex cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and self-directed. Ability to drive projects and priorities to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
- Experience managing or mentoring people managers is a plus.

💲Compensation
At Verto, base salary is one part of your total compensation package.
Final base pay will depend on your location (aligned to Verto’s compensation regions), as well as your experience, skills, and relevant qualifications. Your recruiter/hiring manager can share the specific range for your location during the hiring process.
United States | Remote — Anticipated Base Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 USD
