Summary

Dual Language Senior Content Developer responsible for managing the development of digital ancillary and supplemental educational products in Spanish and English from concept through publication. The role combines instructional design, content creation, and project coordination to support K-12 literacy and language learning.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and edit dual-language digital content including scaffolded game-based learning materials, coordinate with authors and vendors, and manage review/approval cycles across manuscript and production stages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, marketing, QA) to ensure content quality, meet project deadlines, and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
Skills & Tools: Superior Spanish writing and editing skills (fluent written and verbal), excellent project management and organizational abilities, proficiency with MS Office and digital tools (Slack, Jira), and collaborative communication skills. Knowledge of game design, Adobe Creative Suite, and up-to-date understanding of language, literacy, and pedagogical best practices preferred.
Qualifications: 7-10 years of experience developing materials for an educational publisher or school district with a University/College degree in Education or related field. Teaching experience is a plus.
Location: Remote - Florida, United States of America
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $70,000 – $92,000/year based on senior-level content development position, bilingual expertise, 7-10 years experience requirement, and educational publishing industry in Florida/remote US location.

Job Description

Position Purpose:

Work with Leadership in the Content Creation staff to manage the development of digital ancillary and supplemental products in Spanish and English, from concept through publication. Responsible for contributing to instructional design, data-driving learning outcomes, and writing and editing new content. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be fluent in Spanish, both written and verbal.
  • Help envision implementation, developmental appropriateness and engagement of digital applications of dual language materials for both teachers and students
  • Develop scaffolded game content, instruction and feedback, aligning with Editorial team’s learning objectives
  • Help ensure the successful development of all materials in digital formats
  • Coordinate with content developers as well as authors, vendors and freelance writers in creating content to ensure that project goals and content guidelines are observed.
  • Review, edit, and approve manuscript and production/QA stages, working directly with technology developers, copyeditors, graphic designers, and photo researchers. Be responsible for developmental editing of student and teacher materials from manuscript through digital production
  • Develop and maintain writing and editing guidelines along with permissions and legal requirements
  • Request and review vendor and writer samples and provide vendor feedback as necessary to ensure quality control
  • Review and approve manuscript and production stages, working directly with authors/researchers, content developers, assistant content developers, copyeditors, graphic designers, and photo researchers
  • Incorporate feedback (based on defined review stages) from Professional Development, Sales and Marketing, Editorial management, and outside reviewers and subject-matter experts/consultants
  • Attend regularly scheduled status meetings to report on workflow and content issues
  • Consult with all project team members
  • Communicate with Sales & Marketing to support the development of sales support tools
  • Work with the Correlations Manager to create and/or review state or competition correlations to ensure that they accurately address standards and topics assigned digital applications
  • Aid in the QA of new digital products
  • Read professional journals to increase market and pedagogical knowledge
  • Attend department and weekly product status meetings
  • Complete time tracking documentation on a weekly basis

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Help support and coordinate editorial and production schedules and needs in order to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Help support development of digital content workflows, metadata tagging and instructional design

Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in developing materials for an educational publisher or school district
  • University/College degree in Education or related field
  • Superior Spanish writing & editing skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Knowledge of game design and implementation preferred
  • Up-to-date knowledge of language, literacy and content issues
  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency, MS Office and digital development tools such as Slack and Jira
  • Basic proficiency, Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Flexible in adjusting to changing needs and schedules
  • Able to work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., design and marketing)
  • Teaching experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
